Role: Senior Project Manager
Reporting To: Director of the Program Management Office (PMO)
Split: 35% Program Execution & Schedule / 30% Stage-Gate & Governance / 35% Tooling, Metrics & Communication
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact opportunity to join a fast-growing aerospace startup at a pivotal growth stage and serve as a core execution pillar within our newly established Program Management Office (PMO). As Doroni Aerospace shapes the future of personal air mobility, you will own the day-to-day execution, schedule integrity, and critical path analysis for complex cross-functional programs across Engineering, Flight Test, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. Reporting directly to the Director of PMO, you will bridge multi-disciplinary teams to ensure technical deliverables and prototype builds are achieved on time, within budget, and in strict alignment with Quality Management System (QMS) standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, SOC 2).
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Program Execution & Schedule Ownership (35%): Develop and maintain work breakdown structures (WBS), schedules, and resource allocations for key engineering and operational initiatives. Proactively identify inter-departmental dependencies, resolve critical-path bottlenecks, track project expenditures, and manage scope changes via formal change control workflows.
Stage-Gate Governance & Cross-Functional Integration (30%): Lead technical and operational preparation for formal milestone phase-gate reviews. Partner with engineering leads to monitor Engineering Change Orders, align supplier procurement timelines with assembly/test schedules, and ensure all project artifacts satisfy strict audit standards for ISO 9001, AS9100, and SOC 2.
Tooling, Metrics & Communication (35%): Maintain single-source-of-truth project health data, risk registers, and status dashboards inside our enterprise PPM software stack. Enforce standardized PMO practices while facilitating recurring project standups, sprint reviews, and risk workshops across US and international teams.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 6–8+ years of progressive project management experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary technical or operational projects from concept through deployment in hardware, aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environments.
PPM & Methodology Mastery: Advanced hands-on proficiency with enterprise project management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Jira, MS Project, Asana) and practical expertise in hybrid project management methodologies (Stage-Gate, Waterfall, Agile/Scrum).
Cross-Functional Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical engineering challenges into actionable program decisions and maintain cross-departmental alignment.
Preferred Profile
Certifications: PMP, CAPM, CSM, or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt credentials are a strong plus.
Regulatory Exposure: Working familiarity with structured Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, SOC 2) or safety-critical hardware testing environments.
