What’s exciting for investors and the general public is that the H1-X is already beyond the concept stage. We have developed and flown full-scale prototypes and are continuing to flight-test and reach certification for personal ownership.

So while nobody can guarantee exactly when the first flying car will be delivered, there is a defined development path for the H1-X between today and the planned start of deliveries in 2028.

Where the H1-X Is Right Now

We are developing the H1-X as a two-seat personal eVTOL designed around individual ownership. Its development has progressed through prototype construction, flight testing and work towards FAA certification.

• More than 70 test flights completed, including early manned eVTOL flight testing in the United States.

• An FAA Special Airworthiness Certificate for manned flight testing. This allows the prototype to conduct authorized flight tests, but it is not the production certification required for customer deliveries.

• A design developed around the FAA's MOSAIC framework, which was finalised in 2025 and expands the Light Sport Aircraft category and Sport Pilot pathway.

• Patents covering elements of the aircraft's design, including noise reduction and safety systems.

• The public unveiling of a full-scale H1-X Engineering Model and SOUL AI™ Digital Co-Pilot, bringing the aircraft together with investors, pre-order holders and others interested in its development.

The Importance of FAA Certification

FAA certification is one of the most important steps between a flying prototype and an aircraft planned for customer delivery.

An aircraft can be authorized for flight testing without being certified for normal customer operation. An FAA Special Airworthiness Certificate, for example, permits an aircraft to carry out approved testing while the manufacturer gathers the data needed for the next stages of development and certification. For the H1-X, we are developing the aircraft within the regulatory framework we intend to use for personal operation—specifically the FAA's MOSAIC framework, which expands the Light-Sport Aircraft category and Sport Pilot license pathway. 

Our approach has been to integrate FAA safety and performance requirements throughout the aircraft's development rather than treat certification as an afterthought. Testing must demonstrate that the aircraft and its systems meet all applicable requirements, and our goal is to execute a rigorous certification flight campaign targeting completion by late 2027.

What Has to Happen Before Customer Deliveries?

There are several steps between a flying prototype and an aircraft arriving with its first owner.

Rigorous flight testing must continue as we gather performance and safety data to validate the aircraft's redundant systems in various operating conditions

FAA Certification is crucial for full aircraft compliance with applicable FAA requirements under the MOSAIC rules.

Production and assembly also needs to be established. Repeatable manufacturing processes, supply chains, quality control systems, and final inspection protocols are planned as we scale toward commercial production.

Finally, customer operations need to be ready, including pilot training for a Sport Pilot Certificate, certified service centers (as maintenance tasks will be performed by certified personnel rather than owners), and dedicated customer support.
