Why Is Urban Air Mobility Becoming Possible Now? 

Three developments are helping move urban air mobility from a long-term concept towards a developing aviation market: electric propulsion, advances in aircraft technology and new regulatory pathways.

Electric motors provide the distributed propulsion needed for vertical flight, while improvements in battery technology continue to support the development of practical electric aircraft. 

At the same time, increasing congestion in major cities has created demand for transportation options that are not limited by existing road networks.

In the United States, the FAA's MOSAIC rule, finalised in 2025, created a defined pathway for smaller electric aircraft, including personal eVTOLs, within the Light Sport Aircraft category and Sport Pilot framework, which is what we have built our process with the H1-X around.
